Yes, a one-year LLM (Master of Laws) degree program in India is/was valid. However, in January 2021, the Bar Council of India (BCI) announced that it would be abolishing the one-year LLM courses across India, and rules for the same were to come into effect from the academic year 2022-23. These regulations have been submitted before the Supreme Court, and the one-year LLM course is not valid from the academic year 2022-23 onwards. Nevertheless, during the current academic year, the one-year LLM will remain valid.
